Pavlov's House

The objective of Pavlov’s House is to endure until the defenders of Pavlov’s House receive the command to assault a critical German stronghold during the Battle of Stalingrad. This concept is illustrated in the game by navigating a deck of cards that represent components of the German 6th Army.

Pavlov’s House holds historical significance as a reinforced residential building utilized as a stronghold by the Soviet 62nd Army in the pivotal Battle of Stalingrad during World War II. The Soviet defenders, primarily hailing from the 7th Company, 3rd Battalion, 42nd Guards Rifle Regiment of the 13th Guards Division, withstood nearly two months of relentless German attacks. The building was named after Yakov Pavlov, a sergeant who led the initial assault group responsible for seizing the building from the Germans. The tale of Pavlov’s House was instrumental in Soviet propaganda, symbolizing the remarkable resistance displayed by Soviet forces in the heat of the Battle of Stalingrad.
